wow. luci was 11 months yesterday. below is an update.
she is pulling up on everything and walking around furniture. she's stood briefly by herself, but mostly will flop back down or grab onto something for stability. i think she will be walking sooner than later, but won't be surprised if she waits until after her first birthday. she can be rather lazy i.e. late to roll over and crawl. :)
she is however all over the place crawling.
she swam for the first time at my parents this weekend and loved it. i'm sure it helps that the pool is kept at a cool 79 degrees (and counting) because of my parents heater. of course we didnt' have a heater growing up, but for luci, they wouldn't go without! we are going again on friday on my day off. of course we planned to go to the gym today to swim there, but it's crappy weather. we'll go again soon.
she's tried lots of new foods including chicken, refried beans, soy beans, ice cream, apricot, cheerios, garbanzo beans and i'm sure more but i can't think of it all now. she's becoming a little more picky and loves to block my arms when i'm going in for the kill with some veggies. of course everyone else is tickled by it that feeds her (namely my dad and grandpa), but because it happens to me every time i feed her, i think it's rude and i tell her that! she could care less. :)
she still loves walks and flowers and all the big fountains on campus. when we walk i make sure to take her by the fountains and she squeals in delight. she loves swinging at the park and at both grandparent's houses too.
she still is toothless. it's so cute and my doc said no worries until after 18 months or so, and even then, it's not that big of a deal. but still, i have visions of having her fit for baby dentures! she's just like my grandma dee, her middle namesake. my grandma could eat steak with her gums!
her sleeping is still pretty unpredictable. she goes down between 730-830 depending on the day and the time she woke up. she gets up anytime from 515-8. if she wakes up before 6, she nurses and goes back down. i sure would love a 7 am wake up or later, but she consistently sleeps through the night. her waking up around 2-3 am stage is over. she is still at two naps a day. her one nap a day flukes occur if she takes a power 3 hour or more nap around 11-2 or 3 pm.
i can't believe the next update is her one year! i was talking to my grandpa on friday about how fast she's growing up. and how i never truly realized how fast time flies until i had her. he said it's true. and sometimes he sits back and looks at his kids and his grandkids and now his great grandkids and wonders "lord, where did the time go?" each day is precious!
