if i didn't know better, i would think lucia could poop on demand to get my attention. more often than not, after i put luci down for a nap i'll have about 10 minutes of quiet time thinking to myself "yes! she's going down!" only to be proven wrong with whining/crying seconds later. when i go to her, i'm greeted with the faint stench of shat and i know she was quiet for 10 minutes because she was relaxing and enjoying a poop in the comfort of her own bed. it's like she is a man that can only go to the bathroom well on his own throne. she prefers her crib over any other place. i guess i don't blame her, but man does it throw her off! because of course i have to take her out, change her and then expect her to wind down again after all of that disruption. i've been telling my mom this for weeks- the fact that i think she loves pooping in her bed because a. it relaxes her and b. she can put off nap time. we've been laughing about it, and woudln't you know, when we were there on friday night, she pooped when i put her to bed and also right before her first nap of the day on saturday. we all cracked up because she truly is an on demand dumper.
an additional poop story that might mortify trav that i'm posting(probably not as he is usually proud of himself) happened on friday night. at my parents house, we share a room with lucia as she sleeps at the foot of our bed in a pack and play. around 2 am, she woke up crying because she was hot. i dressed her in the wrong pajamas and poor thing was sweaty. after changing her into something cooler, she was awake so i had to rock her to sleep before putting her down because trav was in bed (as that was where i needed to go after putting her down) and i didn't want her to see us.
after rocking lu for a couple minutes, travis shot up and attempted to get out of bed. in the darkness of the room i was mouthing "NO NO NO!" while he mouthed back "i have to go!" "NO!" i silently screamed at him! the whole time i'm thinking "he's smarter than this! is he crazy!? he knows i need to get her to sleep and if she sees him it's all over." well after about 15 more minutes of him laying there, he ignores my silent screams and leaves, only to wake her fully. i couldn't believe him!
i ended up going downstairs to finish rocking her in the darkness of my parents living room and that worked quite well. when i laid her back down he apologized but said he "had to call 911" (our code for an explosive bathroom session)or else he woudln't have gotten up. poor guy, about to mess the bed and i'm screaming at him to stay put.
i realize i just wrote an entire post about poop. yes it is true. if you're disgusted by it, you probably shouldn't be reading my blog as you have no sense of humor! everyone poops and poop is funny, no matter what the age! ha

eddie only poops in his bed too. sometimes in the afternoon we put him down although he never actually takes a nap, he just makes a poop. i thought it was hilarious when lu was pooping in her high chair - is she not anymore?
Oh my goodness you had me laughing out loud. My children have never been bed poopers but my good friend’s girl does that. She is always complaining about it. Throws the whole nap off. The Trav story is hilarious. John and I have had many tense moments that deal with the bathroom and kids sleeping. Camille’s bedroom shares a wall with our bathroom and any little noise wakes her up. I am never as understanding as you. I am always like "gosh you are a grown adult, hold it!"
